Michael Jackson's Job Hunt 01/17/2006 Jacko resume Seeking employment: Lawsuit-prone expat superstar and Peter Pan aficionado whose skills including moonwalking, theme-park construction and typing 50 words per minute while wearing sequined gloves.
Okay, we're not sure about that last bit, but in any case, Michael Jackson is on the job hunt.
Jackson is looking to trade his King of Pop credentials for the title of consultant with a Bahrain-based entertainment company.
The entertainer is currently in negotiations to take a position with AAJ Holdings Ltd. to act as an advisor on the company's latest endeavors, setting up theme parks and music academies throughout the Middle East.
Aside from his Disney-esque Neverland Ranch, Jackson's amusement park experience is limited to Captain Eo (the 1980s-era 3-D film and Disney theme park attraction he created in collaboration with George Lucas and Francis Ford Coppola) and scuttled plans to build amusements parks and/or entertainment complexes in such locales as Detroit, Poland, Brazil, Japan, South Korea and Africa
But Jackson apparently needs the work--he has reportedly been suffering cash-flow problems due to extensive legal bills, profligate spending habits and dearth of new hit albums--and he can probably telecommute.
Jackson has been living as a guest of the royal family (who is also bankrolling his yet-to-be released all-star hurricane relief single, which he's been working on since September).

rowe vs jackson 02/16/2006 jackson's children still in middle of custody fight michael jackson's legal fight with ex-wife deborah rowe over their two children otherwise known as the custody battle of the d*mned is heating up, thanks to rowe's latest victory. the california 2nd district court of appeals in los angeles ruled wednesday that in her previous custody case, rowe's parental rights were not properly relinquished under the law. the ruling sets the stage for more legal sparring between the onetime king of pop and his former incubator, er, wife. the appeals court ruled that while rowe gave up her parental rights in 2001 and conceded sole custody of the two kids to jackson, the case was marred because the judge in the case neglected to have state officials determine what was in the kids' best interests. presumably, these officials would have suggested that anything up to and including being raised by glue-sniffing badgers would be preferable to the fr*akish voyage of dysfunction to which the kids have been consigned. the judge, steven m. lachs, agreed he had been in error and voided his own ruling in 2004. the appeals court's ruling this week upholds lachs' decision and puts the custody fight back in play. what jackson's next move will be was not known thursday. he had no immediate comment on the ruling, publicist raymone k. bain said. the entertainer has been living out of the country since his acquittal on molestation charges last june, and is reportedly traveling with his children in italy. jackson and rowe married in november 1996 and filed for divorce in october 1999 after the births of son prince michael and a daughter, paris. jackson also has a son whose mother hasn't been identified. at a hearing on jackson's motion opposing rowe's move to regain parental rights, lachs was quoted as saying, "it was an arranged deal from the beginning. this was not mom and dad saying, 'hey, let's have a family that we're going to raise.'" www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/news/breaking_news/13891073.htm
